Ten Little Splash Sandals 2 FAQs

Ten Little shoes differ from the majority of kids’ shoes on the market, which are often mini versions of adult shoes with narrow, tapered toe boxes and raised, chunky outsoles, which can negatively impact gait and posture. Children’s feet are not just smaller versions of adult feet, so their shoes shouldn't be smaller versions of adult shoes either!

Our SplashLite™ System and TenForm™ Fit System take a different approach. Designed in collaboration with doctors and awarded the APMA Seal of Acceptance (The American Podiatric Medical Association), our Splash Sandals support healthy development and natural movement in growing kids. Prioritizing a natural shape, our shoes mimic a child’s bare foot with wide, foot-shaped toe boxes to match the asymmetrical splay of their toes and flexible, zero-drop soles for optimal gait and ground feedback. These PETA-approved sandals, crafted with quick-drying, non-toxic EVA, feature a closed toe box and supportive heel cup to ensure a secure fit, and non-skid, high traction outsoles to prevent slipping on wet surfaces.

Most kids’ sandals on the market, including popular brands like Crocs and Native, prioritize fashion over function, with narrow toe boxes and chunky heels. They often lack heel support and adjustability. Their unsecure, non-anatomical, and bulky construction limits natural movement and can make active play unsafe and uncomfortable. Splash Sandals are designed differently. Our SplashLite™ System delivers a water-friendly, lightweight construction that provides support, traction, and all-day comfort whether at camp or the beach. Paired with our TenForm™ Fit System, Ten Little’s signature barefoot-friendly design featuring wide, foot-shaped toe boxes and minimal, flexible soles, they support healthy development and natural movement.

Our proprietary TenForm™ Fit System is designed to support natural movement and healthy growth at every stage. Grounded in medical insights and biomechanical research, TenForm™ ensures every Ten Little shoe is built around how children’s feet actually grow and move, prioritizing anatomical shape, balance, flexibility, and comfort without compromise. TenForm™ supports healthy foot development through:

You may need a larger size in Ten Little shoes compared to mass brands, as our molds are made custom. The Splash Sandals are only available in full sizes, so size up if your little one is in between sizes. We do not offer different-width shoes, but our Splash Sandals have an adjustable velcro strap to obtain the proper fit. They were specifically designed to mimic kids’ feet, three-dimensionally, with plenty of room for wiggles. They have been successfully tested with a variety of foot shapes, including both wide and narrow feet. If you are using our fit finder to check your little one’s fit, please note that these are best used for matching the length of the feet to the right shoe size and do not represent the three-dimensional fit of our shoes.

Our Splash Sandals, made from a lightweight, quick-dry, non-toxic EVA, are perfect for water play at the beach, pool, or splash pad, whereas our Everyday Sandals have a more durable outsole, similar to a sneaker outsole, and are designed to withstand running, jumping, and climbing through playgrounds! Both sandals are water-friendly.

Both our APMA-approved Splash Sandals and Everyday Sandals are podiatrist-approved, featuring flexible, zero-drop soles, wide-foot shaped toe boxes, and extra traction outsoles.

Our Splash Sandal Charms are sold separately. Our charms are made with non-toxic, durable silicone free of any PVC and designed with a loop on the back so they can easily slide onto the strap of the Splash Sandals and stay securely in place. You can simply slide them off the strap to remove them.

Each pack includes two charms of the same style. They are not intended for children under 3 years of age.

Both the upper and outsole of the shoe can be spot-cleaned using a clean, soft cloth dampened with water, with the addition of a mild soap as needed. You can also try using a magic eraser on our outsoles to remove scuff marks or scratches. We don’t suggest machine washing because multiple washes or constant submerging in water can start to break down the shoe materials. After hand washing, it's best to let the shoes air-dry completely before wearing!
